Ciera’s family has a tradition of placing a penny in the bride’s shoe before she walks down the aisle. It comes from the saying “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.” Ciera’s great-grandmother was given a 1917 penny on her wedding day and that exact penny has since been passed down to her grandmother, mother and then her on each of their wedding day.

The spelling is creative but it’s pronounced just like Sierra. Lucky Penny was created in late 2014 and is really the culmination of Ciera’s creative and entrepreneurial spirits melding into one. Originally a Washingtonian, Ciera found herself in Gunnison after solely selecting a college to ski race NCAA for. It’s not uncommon for her boxer dog, Creed, to tag along on venues and site inspections. Ciera loves adventuring in hiking boots, ski boots, or bike shoes.

Born and raised in Colorado, Kaitlyn enjoys skiing, hiking, and taking dips in high alpine lakes. Kaitlyn is excited to be on the Lucky Penny team and bring her love of meticulous planning and small details to all the planning details. Having the opportunity to be social and celebrate joyous occasions makes wedding planning an absolute dream job!

Assistant Planner

A local to the Gunnison Valley Lily joins us in the summer while college school is out of session. In addition to her role at Lucky Penny, she is passionate about dance. Lily thrives working with people and exercising her creativity in any outlet possible so working in this industry is a dream come true.

Taylor

Assistant Planner

Taylor grew up in Boulder and ski racing at Winter Park, Colorado. She found herself ski racing NCAA for the University of New Mexico before heading off to PT school. She currently works at a local Physical Therapy clinic while balancing her creative passion on wedding days.

Caroline

Assistant Planner

Leadville, born and raised Caroline is a sucker for anything purple, metallics, and dance parties. She loves to celebrate every event, big or small. Aside from events, Caroline is passionate about traveling to warm places and trail running.

Denver born and raised while sneaking away to the Western slope as a child to adventure! Ouray is a sucker for snowmobile adventures and epic ski lines.
