Summer Serenity: A Garden Party Extravaganza

In the embrace of summer 2023, Lucky Penny Events curated an unforgettable wedding hosted in the intimate embrace of a backyard oasis. Against the canvas of a personal property, 150 cherished guests were invited to witness the union of love, surrounded by the quintessential charm of a crisp and clean garden party. Lucky Penny’s design thesis, a masterpiece in itself, unfolded with an emphasis on understated elegance punctuated by pops of unexpected details and vibrant colors.

The backyard transformed into a haven of serenity, adorned with meticulously arranged elements that celebrated the natural beauty of the surroundings. Lucky Penny’s design shone through as unexpected details seamlessly blended with the lush greenery—a testament to their commitment to creating moments of surprise and delight. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the celebration, the summer soirée became a timeless testament to love, laughter, and the artful touch of Lucky Penny Events.

Captivating Colors: A Fall Affair at Cement Creek Ranch

In the heart of fall’s enchanting embrace, Lucky Penny Events invites you to relish the golden spectacle of a breathtaking wedding held at Cement Creek Ranch in 2022. Set against the backdrop of nature’s autumnal masterpiece, the Lucky Penny team skillfully wove rich browns and opulent gold accents throughout the celebration, seamlessly marrying elegance with the seasonal splendor. As guests entered the tented venue, they were greeted by hanging flowers suspended like jewels from above, infusing the air with a touch of warmth and romance. The fusion of captivating colors and the inherent charm of Cement Creek Ranch created an unforgettable tapestry, a testament to the artistry and meticulous planning of the Lucky Penny team.

Enchanting Elegance: The Winter Wonderland meets Sexy James Bond

In March 2022, the Lucky Penny team orchestrated a breathtaking winter wonderland wedding, transforming the serene landscape of Paradise Divide into a glamorous haven. Embracing the theme of a “sexy James Bond” celebration, the design thesis infused sophistication and allure into every detail. The outdoor ceremony, framed against the majestic backdrop of snow-covered peaks, featured sleek and modern ghost chairs for seating, creating an ethereal atmosphere that perfectly complemented the wintry surroundings.

Following the vows, the celebration continued at the Center for the Arts Crested Butte, where the venue underwent a stunning metamorphosis. The entire ceiling became a cascading masterpiece, adorned with lush and dripping greenery that added a touch of enchantment to the space. This unique design choice transported guests into a magical forest, creating an intimate yet glamorous setting for the reception. The juxtaposition of the crisp winter landscape and the warm, sophisticated ambiance of the transformed indoor venue made this winter wonderland wedding an unforgettable and romantic experience for the lucky couple and their guests alike.

Ten Peaks Wedding Dance Floor Installation

As with most of Crested Butte’s wedding venues, Ten Peaks certainly is easy on the eyes. Guests often walk off the shuttle and instantly want photos taken of them and their close family with the towering peak of Crested Butte in the backdrop. Callie and Logan’s wedding began with a cloudy sky, rain showers and everything cleared 30 minutes before the ceremony began.

The couple focused on a natural yet polished look. During the ceremony, guests sat in cross-back chairs. A traditional arch was swapped with a low, horseshoe-shaped floral arrangement circling around the couple and their wedding party during the ceremony. This tied in the white, peach and yellow floral color pallet yet did not black the views of Gothic Mountain.

For the cocktail hour, guests took in the views from the deck of the Umbrella Bar where yard games were found.

Long wood farm tables were brought in for the head table. The natural wood planed well off the gray and gold flatware and soft green napkins. All other guests were seated at round tables that were covered in soft green linen to match the napkins. Delicate floral arrangements and votive candles acted as centerpieces.

As a warm welcome into the reception tent, the tent entrance was adorned with a floral installation, drapery and a cluster of white lanterns.

My favorite design element was an installation over the dance floor. We were aiming for a combination of garden flowers, organic and forged greenery and clusters of eclectic chandeliers. The install consisted of hardware hidden by drapery and lots of love by Dahlia Florals.

Crested Butte Mountain Top Wedding

Talk about amazing views. This bride’s parents own a home on Red Mountian Ranch in Crested Butte. All guests were shuttled up for a Crested Butte mountain wedding ceremony. Following that, a cocktail hour and reception were hosted at the Club at Crested Butte.

The design focus was large, eye-catching pieces and installations. Therefore, the ceremony arch was intentional but not over the top to take away from the breathtaking view for this Crested Butte mountain top wedding. Every other chair had a portion of a bible verse. And white flowers popped against the striking green and blue backdrop.

Over at the Club, the dance floor installation was nothing less than amazing. Guests walked to a simple yet impactful pacesetting. Continued themes, such as the wax seal, were continued throughout the decor. Once the dance party began, guests danced under a net of greenery and lush white florals.

Mountain Elegant Wedding with a Donkey

This day can be summed up with mountain elegant wedding that meets bright florals and a surprise guest! The bride and groom invited their closest 30 family and friends for an intimate gathering at the Mountain Wedding Garden.

We focused on keeping the pallet clean and white. To accent, this simple pallet, pinks, and golds were brought in. Therefore, gold flatware and gold chargers were used while being paired with the prettiest floral print napkin. Each place setting had a pink water goblet. Because the couple missed their pup, a custom drawing of the dog was made and put on to custom gold foil cocktail napkins. And then Dirty Girl arrived, surprise guest to everyone (but the couple!). The florist even made a flower crown for the wedding donkey. This mountain elegant wedding was one for the books.

Intimate Ceremony in the Woods

Only nine guests were invited to this intimate ceremony in the woods. Because mountains, adventure, and a quiet place is important to Amy and William they trusted the Lucky Penny team to find them the most amazing ceremony and champagne hour venue. Therefore, a private campsite was found snuggled right up next to Lake Irwin. Snow-capped peaks, golden leaves, and a calm lake were all in view. Yet guests were surrounded by pine trees for an intimate celebration! No details were disclosed to guests other than when and where to be to load the shuttle.

The couple put 100% trust in Lucky Penny to execute a design with elegance with an organic flare for their intimate ceremony in the woods. The bride wanted white and pink colors to pop against all the greenery. In addition, many wood elements were brought in. Ceremony chairs were wood and iron, a farm table was used for cake and champagne hour and small wood plates acted as dessert plates.

Ten Peaks Purple, Green and Blue Wedding

Jenny and Michael selected Ten Peaks and the Umbrella Bar for their wedding venue. I can not express how amazing the views are from this venue. Every time guests begin to arrive, there are selfies taking place all around me. So, what better view to share with out-of-town guests.

For the design, we stuck to a cool-toned color pallet. Therefore, purples, blues, and greens were selected paired with wood accents. Circle and geometric shapes were also chosen for accents. The bridesmaids were dressed in different shades of purple dresses with hop bouquets. Over in the reception tent, a mixture of round tables and farm tables were set. The rounds were covered in a white linen and accented with cool-toned flowers, greenery and candles. The farm tables had an embordered runner with tapper candlesticks. Sage green napkins and a spring of rosemary were placed on each plate.

Funky Ten Shades of Pink Wedding

Leading up to this wedding, every single person I told about this pink wedding, said: “Dang, how did that bride convince the groom to go with an all-pink wedding.” Needless to say, they couldn’t comprehend the epicness of this “pink wedding”. I was given the go-ahead to bring every shade of pink into the color pallet with black and gold accents. Come day-of, I could not be happier about how it turned out!

This adventurous couple wanted just that for their elopement; an adventure. Their adventurous spirits shined in every aspect of their wedding day including when 15 minutes prior to the ceremony, Phil started up a chainsaw to move a down tree in their ceremony location.

And their wedding . . . Oh their wedding! It’s what I now lovingly refer to as the ‘Waterfall Elopement Fairy Tale’, for good reason. Their one request was to be surrounded by wildflowers and a beautiful backdrop. And that is just what we did.
