As I reflect on the 2017 wedding season, I look forward to 2018 wedding trends and am giving you seven wedding prediction sneak peaks of my own!
Velvet
Gone are the days of velvet being a winter specific special occasion fabric. You’ll be seeing velvet dresses, velvet table linens and velvet accents in decor and invitations.
Bold Accessories
You will see brides express their personal style through statement jewelry and non-traditional headpieces.
Colored, Textured and Hand Painted Cakes
Next year we’ll be seeing more and more color in frosted cakes; be that red, gold accents, and blue. Beware, your guest’s mouths may turn colors.
Transparency
From guest books to invitations, it’s clear (pun intended!) glass details are trending. This style speaks to the modern and mimalialistic couple or to the green couple looking to repurpose items.
Creative menus
Making the food options non-traditional, personalized and bringing in different cultures like Mexican, Asian cuisine with creative menus. Scratch that traditional 3-course meal.
Non-traditional invitations
Couples are thinking outside the standard 5×7 envelope when it comes to their invitation suite. From paper made from crushed stone, to laser engraved wood and acrylic invites, we are going to begin seeing fresh designs.
Cover-ups, Capes, and blankets
Brides continue to get creative with their coverups when the sun drops.
